The Athens Conservancy is a nonprofit organization of a type known as a land trust. Our mission is to protect natural areas in Athens County, Ohio, and neighboring counties. We own and manage nature preserves, acquired with the aid of grants and donations, and we work with landowners to create conservation easements. Other activities include controlling non-native invasive plants, supporting outdoor recreation, public-service mapping, planning for land management on both private and public levels, and public education.
