We're pulling in people focused in all different areas of women's empowerment: anti-sex trafficking, pro birth control and comprehensive sex education, pro-choice/bodily autonomy, as well as those working to lower women's incarceration, build girls' self-esteem, promote the economic development of women and even eliminate sexual harassment for a connection session.  

These meetings help us stay energized, be supported and gain familiarity with the resources and needs of women and the organizations advocating for them in the Tulsa area.

We are calling it our Half The Sky Get-Togethers, after the quote from Mao Zedong "Women hold up half the sky quote and the fantastic book "Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide". The book argues that the oppression of women worldwide is "the paramount moral challenge" of the present era, much as the fight against slavery was in the past" and we can all support that.
