Individual and Consumer Data Privacy
Technology today is ahead of protective legislation. In other words, we still don't have comprehensive enough laws to protect us from technological abuses including the misuse of our digital data.
Therefore, the Individual and Consumer Data Privacy group advocates for more comprehensive data and consumer privacy laws both within the state and federal laws. These legislations will provide the much needed and necessary protections against civil rights abuses that too easily go unrecognized and unregulated in today's fast growing digital society. Comprehensive Data Privacy laws will also hold businesses, corporations and agencies accountable for perpetuating covert and systematic forms of discriminations based on protected characteristics such as race and gender.
