Monterey Peace and Justice Center

[city], CA

The Mission of the Monterey Peace and Justice Center (MPJC) is to inspire and mobilize the people of Monterey County to cultivate peace, social justice, nonviolence, democracy, and environmental sustainability in our community and the world through education and advocacy.

MPJC serves as a venue and resource center for the various organizations that comprise the Peace Coalition of Monterey County, as well as other groups aligned with MPJC's mission. MPJC houses a free lending library of books and films on peace, social justice, nonviolence, and environmental sustainability. Visitors to the Peace Center are welcome to browse and read materials, use public computers, access Wi-Fi, or watch a documentary film selection.  MPJC regularly hosts film screenings, speakers, discussion groups, English Second Language classes, workshops, and other programs. MPJC partners with California State University at Monterey Bay and and Middlebury Institute for International Studies at Monterey to provide service learning opportunities at the Center.
