Protect Our Election is a non-profit organization dedicated to focusing attention on the very real threat of a domestic assault on our free and fair elections.

Our thesis is that there is an overlooked choke point in our great democracy: politically-minded state officials who will be able to lend credence (should they choose to do so) to Donald Trump's inevitable wild claims of election fraud. When Trump takes to Twitter and asserts, with no evidence, that the vote count in a key swing state has been impacted by fraud, who will stand up to him?

We believe that state Secretaries of State will take on an over-sized role in this particular presidential election for this reason. And we are acting now to make sure they know that American citizens expect them to do their jobs, to place country over party, and to preserve our fragile democracy.
