SHARE formed in August 2017 in response to Governor Cuomo's call for a fracked gas power plant to power and heat the Empire State Plaza and other government buildings, located in an Environmental Justice neighborhood in Albany called Sheridan Hollow.

Coalition partners include: Merton D. Simpson (D) Albany County Legislator District 2 -- Citizen Action New York -- People of Albany United for Safe Energy (PAUSE) -- Food and Water Watch NY -- Green Education and Legal Fund -- SANE Energy Project and -- Stop NY Fracked Gas Pipeline. In September, 2017 we delivered a letter signed by over 100 community and environmental organizations calling for the governor to power the Plaza with renewable energy.
