Trucha is an independent multimedia organization dedicated to the people, the culture and social movements of the Rio Grande Valley, the southernmost tip of Texas along the US-Mexico border. We center queer and migrant communities of color. Trucha creates and curates community journalism, videography and creative and cultural programming to craft a more nuanced and holistic regional narrative. We counter the mainstream media’s harmful framing of our region by showcasing grassroots perspectives and experiences.
