We are a diverse group of veterans and military family members who want to organize for effective political action within the Democratic Party. North Carolina has a large veteran population, but we do not feel the general public and our elected officials are presented with the information needed for them to make decisions on issues that impact us and our families.

Many of our elected leaders haven't served in our armed forces, and do not understand the needs of veterans and military families. As veterans we understand the true costs of war and the importance of a strong and pragmatic defense.

We believe in patriotism and supporting our nation. Patriotism does not mean my country right or wrong, but recognizes that we are a country of laws and respect the rights guaranteed to all by our Constitution.

Far too many elected leaders claim to support veterans during election campaigns, only to forget us when it's time to legislate. We must work to hold officials up and down the ballot accountable to our constituency. We need results, not excuses.

We believe that veterans are best served by electing Democrats.
