Restore Critical Funding for Legal Aid

We need your help. Mayor Bowser’s proposed 2025 budget includes a 67% cut to the Access to Justice Program, which allows low-income DC residents to access critical legal services for free.

If the DC Council doesn't restore this funding, it will have a profound impact on Legal Aid DC and other legal service providers, forcing us to turn away low-income District residents who are facing eviction, foreclosure, mounting debt, domestic violence, loss of public benefits, immigration issues, and more.

The Council prevented these devastating cuts last year, and we're calling on leaders to once again step in and find a solution. Our budget shouldn’t be balanced on the backs of programs that help people who need it most.

If you’re a District resident, enter your address to get started and take one minute to email the Council and ask them to protect low-income District families. Thank you!
