Act Now! Tell Your Legislators: No More Cuts

The budget passed in the 2017 regular legislative session is already a bipartisan compromise. Even though it continues years of insufficient funding for schools, it is vital that we preserve even this level of funding.

But Governor Martinez vetoed the entire higher education budget, eliminating every dime of funding for colleges and universities across New Mexico. Now the Governor has called the legislature for a special session on May 24. Budgets for school districts may still be cut in the special session. It's vital that lawmakers hear from you.

Email your legislators now, and urge them to override Governor Martinez's veto.

A veto override will immediately restore funding for higher education, preserve the compromise K-12 budget, and prevent any further harm to New Mexico's students and communities.
