Adopt Vision Zero in Bastrop County

How safe is Bastrop County?

Since 2010, 232 people have died on streets and roads in Bastrop County, while another 896 have suffered life-altering, serious injuries– 1,128 families whose lives have been impacted forever by traffic violence.

Bastrop County must join the growing safety movement in the region and the rest of Texas. All children, all families deserve access to a safe transportation system. Already, the cities of Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Laredo, and Fort Worth have chosen to save lives by adopting Vision Zero, and TXDOT has adopted a statewide Road to Zero goal, approach, and increased funding for safety. We need Vision Zero in Bastrop County. We need meaningful goals and we need the county to figure out how it can bring these numbers down.

We are asking the leadership of Bastrop County – County Judge Pape and our County Commissioners – to prioritize our safety by committing to end traffic deaths and serious injuries across Bastrop County.
