Ask your MP to support a Universal Basic Energy Allowance

On Tuesday 18th October, an Early Day Motion for a Universal basic energy allowance launched in parliament.

The proposal would be supplemented by a social tariff and alongside a mass national insulation and retrofitting program. This could deliver energy security to consumers and end fuel poverty, while accelerating much needed action on the climate crisis.

Fuel poverty Action's petition calling for Energy For All has received over 655,000 signatures. If implemented, this Early Day Motion would be a massive step towards realizing the objectives of E4A, otherwise we can help make this a mainstream discussion inside parliament.

Will you email your MP asking them to sign Early Day Motion 470: Proposed Energy Equity Commission Bill. See full text, sponsors and signatories here.
