Bailout People, Not Corporations

Don't let the coronavirus be another excuse to bailout wealthy corporations and individuals. People in Philadelphia need support and relief now!

Congress needs to pass and the President needs to sign legislation that goes beyond what is presently being considered.

We need more money to address the medical emergency and it needs to be targeted to help impacted communities and health care workers.

More money is needed for people’s basic needs including a living income, housing and sustenance. All workers need this assistance,  Social Security needs to be expanded and student debt cancelled.

Wasteful and unnecessary corporate bailouts need to end. At the very least aid to big business should come with airtight conditions like not firing workers during this crisis, no stock buybacks , workers on corporate boards, a $15 minimum wage, and Americans getting voting stakes in companies that get public money. Nationalizing Air Lines and Energy companies is an alternative to bailouts that should be considered.

Action is urgent and should not be constrained by what is acceptable to the one percent and their political allies.
