Bring Immigration Justice Bills to a Vote in Committee
Three immigration justice bills - Trust Act, Dignity not Detention Act, and Universal Representation - have completed hearings in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee. The House Judiciary Committee heard testimony on all three bills on March 3.
It is crucial that the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee now bring these bills to a vote so they can move out of committee in both chambers and onto the floor. Once the Senate acts, the House will follow.
Email now to urge Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee chairman Will Smith, who is the primary sponsor of both the Trust and Dignity not Detention bills, to bring these bills to a vote in his committee.
