Brownsville! Fund a Route to Repro!

As a border community, Brownsville is known to be one of the poorest cities in Texas and the United States. Our community faces intersecting oppressions, and we as a region are one of the hardest hit by the fall of Roe. Residents face many barriers to reproductive health care access because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as well as systemic racism, economic insecurity, and immigration status, which deny people the ability to make decisions over their reproductive health care with dignity and economic security.

Texas has banned almost all abortions, and even access to contraceptives and other reproductive health care is being chipped away. If Texans can barely access abortion care, they at least deserve expanded access to other reproductive health care.

The city of Brownsville should support its constituents by funding transportation to clinics that offer birth control, routine gynecologist visits, STI tests, prenatal exams and more. When cities allocate funding for reproductive health care, they help ensure people in their community can get the essential and time-sensitive care they need.

Now more than ever, we need you to join us in the fight for reproductive health care access for our community.

The Texas Youth Activist Alliance needs your help to tell Brownsville City Council that access to reproductive health care is a priority, and to allocate municipal funding for transit to local reproductive health clinics - if you support this, send the mayor and City Council this letter.

This letter campaign is for Texas residents only. If you live outside of Texas and still want to support our campaign and receive updates, sign up here instead!
