CALL TO ACTION: STAND WITH THE KOREAN PEOPLE - CALL FOR PRESIDENT YOON’S RESIGNATION NOW!

On December 3, 2024, President Yoon Seok-Yeol of South Korea declared martial law in the country, banning political protest and independent media. Swift public backlash and a unanimous vote from the National Assembly to lift martial law forced Yoon to backpedal; he claims he will honor the National Assembly’s decision. However, we can’t say the threat of martial law is entirely over until Yoon is removed, and we must support the Korean people’s calls for his resignation.

South Korea’s largest progressive union, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, has called an indefinite general strike until Yoon resigns. We are here in full solidarity with the KCTU and all our people in South Korea resisting the return of military rule to South Korea. Yoon Seok Yeol must go!
