On Monday, 7/31, the MA House and Senate came to an agreement on the budget for the next fiscal year. It contained some important victories, such as:

• Tuition equity for all students regardless of immigration status
• Permanent funding for universal school meals
• No Cost Calls, keeping incarcerated individuals and their families connected

Make sure to thank your legislator for supporting these. But the work isn't done.

The Legislature is still negotiating a tax package, and we need to make sure that the Legislature doesn't undermine last year's Fair Share victory by giving away tax cuts to the ultra-rich and large corporations.
