Comment on SeaPort Sound's Flawed Environmental Analysis!

Please help hold the City of Tacoma & SeaPort Sound accountable!

SeaPort Sound Terminal, a fossil fuel storage and shipment facility located along the Hylebos Waterway in Commencement Bay, is trying to push through an expansion under the guise of “modernization”.

The proposal would replace seven storage tanks with eight new, bigger storage tanks, increasing their capacity by 11%. The proposal also includes demolishing old refinery equipment, replacing wastewater treatment infrastructure and a stormwater line and building two new process water tanks.

The draft Environmental Impact Statement is highly flawed. It fails to provide a comprehensive overview of the potential impacts to air quality, greenhouse gasses, and the risks associated with an increase in rail, vessel, and vehicle traffic.
