Cut the Collaboration! Turley, don't profit from Home Office violence

The Home Office is moving its Central London Immigration Reporting Centre to a new premises in the Royal Victoria Docks area of Newham.

Reporting is a punitive and excessive means of immigration control where people trying to regularise their status must attend the Home Office in person on a regular basis. It is often an extremely stressful and traumatic experience.

People are most likely to be detained when they go to report and will have no prior warning of this happening. Legally, the Home Office can only hold individuals for up to 24 hours at the centre before being released or moved on to “permanent facilities.” i.e. immigration detention centres. The UK is the only country in Europe to detain people indefinitely.

Detention centres are inhumane and a breach of human rights. There has been a wide range of reporting in recent years of overcrowding, mistreatment, violence and neglect.

The Home Office has worked with a number of different companies on their plans, many of whom would prefer to keep their involvement in racist state violence hidden from public view.

Use the following letter template to write to Turley, the planning agent who have taken the Home Office's money to secure planning permission for the new development.
