Charlottesville Residents: Don't Get Zoned Out! Speak up for Racial Justice. Protect And Expand Deeply Affordable Housing.

Charlottesville is currently updating its Future Land Use Map. This map will guide the next decade of development in the City of Charlottesville and is a historic opportunity to confront racial equity in the city.

The Charlottesville Low-Income Housing Coalition (CLIHC) is asking the Charlottesville Plans Together team—the consultants creating the map—to address historically racist and economically discriminatory housing policies in two ways: Stop displacement in majority-Black neighborhoods, and build denser and more deeply affordable housing in historically exclusionary, majority-white neighborhoods.
