Demand for Fair Immigration Hearing for Eric

This week Eric Sanchez Goitia was taken by ICE in Denver, Colorado—and we are writing to ask for your urgent help. He is being held at the Geo Detention Center in Aurora.
Eric is 38 years old and has lived in the United States since he was 11. For over 25 years, he has built a life here: working, paying taxes, and showing up—every single time—for his scheduled immigration check-ins. But at his most recent routine appointment, Eric was unexpectedly detained. Now, he faces imminent deportation to Venezuela—a country that doesn’t even recognize him as a citizen.
Eric and his family fled Venezuela when he was a child to escape violence and instability. Because of the chaos they fled, his citizenship documents were lost or destroyed. That lack of documentation is one of the main reasons he has been denied U.S. citizenship again and again. He is now a man without a country—despite calling America home for nearly three decades.
He is not a criminal. He is a husband, a professional wedding photographer, a fitness coach, and a cherished member of our community. Deporting him would not only be cruel—it would be a devastating failure of an already broken system.
His immigration attorney is working around the clock to file an emergency appeal within the next 48–72 hours. We are doing everything we can, but we need support—both in resources and in visibility.
Please help us bring attention to Eric’s case before it’s too late. Please speak out by signing this letter to our political representatives, and help pause this deportation so he can have a fair hearing and remain with his wife and family.
Eric belongs here.
