EAD Action Alert- Acting for Climate Justice

Hundreds of Christians from many denominations and organizations are meeting with members of Congress on Wednesday, April 21 to demand climate justice for marginalized communities in the U.S. and around the world. This day of action is part of the annual Ecumenical Advocacy Days, a conference held online this year due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Please email your senators and representatives to join these advocates in urging Congress to enact infrastructure and energy legislation that will promote climate, economic, gender, and racial justice to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy. We also call on Congress to commit to reaching net-zero climate pollution in the electricity sector by 2035 and economy-wide by 2050.

Internationally, we are urging Congress to provide funding to help low-income countries access electricity powered by renewable energy, adapt to climate change, promote biodiversity and curb deforestation.
