ORIGINAL:

On Saturday, an Orleans Parish Prison medical staffer tested positive for coronavirus, raising the possibility that the City has already missed its opportunity to prevent community spread within the jail facility.

As the COVID-19 pandemic endangers our community, people in jails and prisons are among those at greatest risk by the spread of the virus. We need the Criminal Court Judges to take immediate action to protect the people still at risk inside.

Please personalize and send a letter to let our elected officials know that if they fail to act now, the community will hold them accountable for any deaths of people incarcerated in OPP and for the public health outcomes in the broader community.
