Emails for Gaza

Dear friends,

As you know, there is a terrible humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza.

Since the Hamas attack on October 7th, the state of Israel has killed over 11,000 Palestinians to date – over 4,000 of them children. That’s a staggering loss of life, 1 out of every 200 people in Gaza dead. Electricity has run out, drinking water has run out, journalists are being murdered, and hospitals are barely able to function. Our own government is complicit in these war crimes, financing around 15% of Israel’s defense budget in recent years. Meanwhile, the war has also led to a rise in antisemitic and Islamophobic hate crimes across the U.S.

We at Reclaim forcefully condemn the genocide of Palestinians, and call for an immediate ceasefire. In doing so, we stand in solidarity with people across the world, including our friends at the Rhode Island chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace. These local Jewish leaders know well the devastating toll of genocide and ethnic cleansing, and are bravely speaking out to say “Never again – for anyone.”

We also recognize the suffering of those who are grieving Israeli loved ones murdered in recent days. Instead of truly addressing this grief or even retrieving the remaining hostages, the Israeli government is using Jewish suffering and fear as justification for egregious violence towards Palestinians. This warlordism is beyond horrific, and helps no one.

Will you take five minutes out of your day to write to our Rhode Island congresspeople, none of whom have yet called for a ceasefire? Applying political pressure is a numbers game, so every constituent email makes a difference. Write or call as often as you can. Soon, our delegation will have no choice but to join the bloc of congresspeople fighting to end these atrocities. Otherwise – we'll campaign against them, and vote them out.

Palestinians need our help. Act now.

In solidarity,

Reclaim RI
