Fund Community Resilience, Not More Police
As members of Austin’s predominantly white community, we are committed to ending racism. Austin’s police accountability process has failed to protect communities of color at the same time that they have colluded to entrench and enforce white supremacy.
Over the last 20 years, Austin has approved budgets where a larger and larger percentage of the budget goes to policing; while starving affordable housing, mental and physical healthcare and many other initiatives that will create a strong, resilient city.
Police don’t make our communities safer.
Let’s fund resources that will.
Send a letter to City Council to use our next budget to turn Austin in the direction of police accountability and safety for all Austin communities.
