All New Jerseyans deserve a safe, healthy, and affordable place to call home. But New Jersey has a significant shortage of homes to meet the needs of our residents.

Coupled with recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and rapid population growth in certain parts of our state, the time is now for New Jersey to make a major investment in affordable housing.

At the same time, New Jersey has an alarming racial wealth gap. We must target homeownership programs to first-generation homeowners to help address this gap.
