Members of AFT 1493 who are faculty members at the San Mateo Community College District (which includes Skyline & Cañada Colleges and the College of San Mateo) have been working out-of-contract since July 1, 2025. The District is refusing to offer fair compensation, fair working conditions, or to include academic freedom protection in our contract as the federal government has been escalating attacks on teachers across the country. The District declared impasse before even offering compensation that would keep up with inflation. After 8 months of negotiations, stand with faculty to help them secure a fair contract!
