Tell Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell to #FreeGlenRobertson2020

Glen Robertson has been in jail, pre-trial, for over 2 years. Last week, when his trial finally began, our community showed up every single day to support Glen despite repeated motions to the court made by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office to prevent public attendance. We had front row seats to the outrageous case MCAO and Phoenix Police have been trying to build against a Black man who protested his brother’s arrest by exercising his First Amendment right to free speech. It's never been clearer that Glen Robertson was a test case for the string of protest related street gang charges that would follow his own in 2020.

The tactics MCAO employed to indict Glen as a gang member are so disturbingly identical to the infamous "ACAB" street gang charges they fabricated against protesters who marched for Black lives. And the players all come from the same departments/divisions in law enforcement as the defamed 2020 prosecutors and cops: Phoenix PD’s Gang Enforcement Unit and MCAO’s Gang Bureau. Yet interim County Attorney Rachel Mitchell, who has full knowledge of this case and is desperately working to distance herself from her disgraced predecessor, still hasn’t dismissed Glen's charges.

Please join us in demanding County Attorney Mitchell:

  • Drop all charges against Glen Robertson, with prejudice (so they are dismissed permanently)
  • Disband the MCAO's notorious Gang Bureau
  • Fire her Deputy County Attorney James Baumann
