House Bill 2620 (HB 2620) has a public hearing on Tuesday, March 6 in the Oregon House Judiciary Committee.

ONA supports HB 2620, which makes assaulting a health care worker a Class C Felony.  However, we know that this is only one step in meaningfully combating workplace violence, which is why ONA proposed amendments to the bill to include more robust reporting of assaults and require increased security in emergency and psychiatric departments since we know these workers are the most vulnerable.

Members of the House Judiciary committee need to hear from you about why this is an important issue that needs to be addressed using a number of meaningful strategies.
