Waterspirit has been advocating for many years to prevent LNG or "liquefied natural gas" due to the threat this poses to water and all life through methane leaks, toxic chemicals and the disruption of natural water cycles. A Department Of Energy's (DOE) 2024 study clearly reveals disastrous consequences of continued LNG exports. The DOE must hear from members of the public about the need to prevent this process altogether. The processes involved in extracting, transporting and processing LNG pollute and deplete sacred water. Water disturbed by hydraulic fracturing or "fracking" poisons aquifers and rivers, often permanently contaminating the very water that residents depend on for survival. The climate emergency we are disproportionately experiencing will only deepen with the continuation of LNG. Your personal comment in opposition to these destructive LNG exports is paramount.
