The time is now to pass a robust infrastructure bill that will create thousands of jobs and revive the economy. We cannot allow Congress to keep kicking the can down the road and keep underfunding America’s critical infrastructure needs.

Our infrastructure needs are urgent. According to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) –

• There is a water main break every two minutes and an estimated 6 billion gallons of treated water lost each day in the U.S., enough to fill over 9,000 swimming pools.

• Growing wear and tear on our nation's roads have left 43% of our public roadways in poor or mediocre condition, a number that has remained stagnant over the past several years.

• There are 30,000 miles of inventoried levees across the U.S., and an additional 10,000 miles of levees whose location and condition are unknown.

The American Jobs Plan is a bold infrastructure plan that will rebuild our roads and rails, fortify our power grid, grow renewable energy markets, expand high-speed Internet, modernize our schools, and deliver clean drinking water to every community. In addition, by connecting prevailing wages and labor standards to the jobs created, the proposal will help drive a just economic recovery for America’s working families.
