Letter in Support of Protected Bike Infrastructure on Clark and Halsted

CDOT has scheduled Clark and Halsted streets to be resurfaced in the Lakeview neighborhood in the near future. As the number of cyclists continues to rise year over year in Chicago, the need for safe and protected bike lanes is critical to provide fast, safe, and pleasant routes for cyclists to move about the city. Street resurfacing only come around once a decade or so and are a great way to re-imagine the streetscape to improve the neighborhood.
With these two streets on the menu for resurfacing, it is critical we begin to voice our desire for better bike infrastructure now to encourage the 44th Ward Alderman Lawson and related local organizations and influential neighborhood elected officials to press forward with improvements to the area's bike network.
