Urge Your Legislator to Cosponsor Legislation to Establish Overdose Prevention Centers!

Despite the state’s efforts, 6 people die of drug overdose in Massachusetts every day. We must take bold action to address this overdose crisis by legalizing overdose prevention centers in Massachusetts. They save lives, increase access to essential services, and link people to treatment.

The Massachusetts for Overdose Prevention Centers (MA4OPC) Coalition is a statewide coalition of over 40 organizations who are committed to overdose prevention in Massachusetts, including the establishment of overdose prevention centers. The coalition spearheads advocacy efforts for policies that will save lives, including fostering a culture of harm reduction and expanding harm reduction interventions that will prevent overdose deaths and facilitate access to treatment, recovery, and support services.

We filed HD.4212 and SD.2483 together with Reps. Decker & Lawn, and Senator Cyr, which allow for the expansion of harm reduction services to include overdose prevention centers, and include liability protections for staff, clients, and operators. This will facilitate the successful implementation and operation of these programs and help save lives in Massachusetts.

Every overdose death is preventable - but we must take action. Please take two minutes to fill out the form to the right and send an email to your Representative and Senator.
