McGill Investment Committee - Divest for Palestine
McGill's Investment Committee is a key player in deciding where our tuition money is invested- they control the flow of vast sums of money and provide analyses and recommendations to the Board of Governors on questions like divestment. Their risk analysis and assessments have clearly demonstrated that McGill prioritizes profit over human rights.
So flood their inboxes and demand that Mcgill’s Investment Committee:
1. Present a binding plan to the Board of Governors before their April 24th meeting for divestment from companies supplying weapons, surveillance technology, or military infrastructure to the Israeli occupation of Palestine. This plan must include timelines for withdrawal and reinvestment in ethical alternatives.
2. Immediately disclose McGill’s current ties to these entities and commit to a full ethical audit of the university’s portfolio going forward.
