California has received $2.6 billion in federal funds, specifically to address this issue - to stabilize renters and the housing market more generally.

Urge your legislator & Governor Newsom to adopt the Keep Families Housed Relief Plan that extends eviction protections, forgives rent debt and provides landlords the help they need.

What this plan does not do is allow speculators to take the money and then evict their tenants, or take the money and then evict their tenants. Housing = Heath. We need to keep everyone housed - for all our sakes.
