Portland: Keep workers' personal information safe

The Freedom Foundation is at it again, trying to obtain the personal information of Portland city workers. This is the same extremist organization that sued to publicly release the private alcohol and drug test results of Washington state workers (thankfully, the Court of Appeals shut down that request).

Our personal information is just that — personal. It shouldn't be used to score cheap political points, put us in increased danger of identity theft, or open us up to anti-union harassment at our front doors. When an extremist group like the Freedom Foundation has our information, we are at risk.

This issue will go before the Portland City Council on Wednesday. Portland workers and residents, please contact your city councillors and the mayor and tell them the city should protect it's workers.
