Over 1,000 graduate workers at the University of New Mexico have signed union cards to join United Graduate Workers of UNM (UGW-UE). We unionized to have a voice in our working conditions and improve teaching and research at UNM. Unfortunately the UNM administration is refusing to recognize our right to unionize, wasting resources on outside union busting lawyers, and trying to make New Mexico the only state that allows unionization for public employees but excludes graduate workers from the same rights and protections. Please help us by sending a letter to President Stokes and asking her to recognize the graduate workers right to collective bargaining.
