Protect the Future of Long-Term Care in Shasta County!

Shasta’s long-term care system is in crisis and County Supervisors must act to protect older adults, people with disabilities and long-term care workers.

In Shasta and across California, our population of older adults and people with disabilities is growing at a rapid rate. We must attract and retain the caregiver workforce needed to meet our community’s growing demand for long-term care.

Despite growing demand, lack of access to the wages and benefits needed to survive is driving workers out of the caregiving profession.

The crisis will only worsen unless Shasta Supervisors invest in the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program, an essential social service that provide our community with quality, cost-effective long-term care in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
