Provost Strobel: SOS! Sustain Our Scholars.

We have an ask for you.

Students and faculty have been mobilizing in frustration with the Yale administration’s ongoing inaction in response to students’ demands for justice in Palestine. Over one thousand of us are calling for Yale Corporation to disclose details of its investments in military weapons manufacturing and take steps towards divestment. We were met with silence.

However, we believe that Yale can and must play a vital role in spearheading the right to education globally, a commitment that includes Palestine. It is Yale’s responsibility to fulfill its mission to “improve the world today and for future generations.”

On Tuesday, October 22nd 2024, we launched our scholasticide campaign with a message to Provost Scott Strobel, requesting Yale to:

  1. Build concrete relationships with Palestinian Universities.

  2. Fund scholarships for Palestinian scholars and studies.

  3. Invest in the transformative study of Palestine.

In short, SOS: Sustain Our Scholars! Alongside, we wrote a three-pronged proposal detailing how Yale could meet these demands.

But Scott, like our university’s administration, has been silent. We think he needs a few more people to give him a little nudge. Use this form to send Scott a reminder about the blood on Yale's, and his, hands. Feel free to use the template provided or send him a custom message of your own.

In solidarity,

Yalies4Palestine
