On June 11th, the Southern Poverty Law Center announced layoffs to 25% of their staff including dozens of members of the SPLC Guild. With years of funds in reserve, these layoffs were targeted to try and break the union at SPLC which formed in 2019. Additionally, the gutting of educational and immigrant support programs at such a critical time will have long lasting effects on communities across the South and the US. Call on CEO Margaret Huang and the SPLC Board to reverse these unjust and unecessary layoffs.
