Save Crane Ledge Woods

Crane Ledge Woods (CLW) is a 24-acre parcel of woodland bordered by Hyde Park, Mattapan, and Roslindale. The CLW Coalition has hosted an inclusive, transparent community process that has centered the voices of our neighborhood. The result: overwhelming support for full conservation of this land, with the current owner, Jubilee Christian Church, receiving fair market value. Conservation of the CLW property is a once-in-a-generation chance to preserve urban tree canopy for inland neighborhoods, addressing inland climate resilience equity, environmental justice (EJ), and natural habitat protection. The City Budget has enough money allocated to preserve CLW, especially if supplemented with state and federal matching funds!

We need AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE to send a letter of opposition to Boston Planning and Development (BPDA) Director Jemison by June 20, 2022. The beautiful urban wild is being threatened with imminent development plans and the city must act immediately in order to save this beautiful and essential place.

This is a sample letter you can use or modify for an email or as a call script. Your own language will be most powerful! Identify if you live near Crane Ledge Woods, and also any useful personal reasons. It is essential for the BPDA to again receive hundreds of letters of opposition to the proposed development.

You can leave comments through the comment portal in addition.
