SB 254 threatens parents of transgender youth with prison and loss custody of their own children if they help them access gender-affirming healthcare. The bill also criminalizes doctors who help minors access gender-affirming care and bans use of telehealth for gender-affirming care for adults. Gender-affirming healthcare is often a lifesaving procedure; by criminalizing the procedure and anyone associated with it, this bill clearly lays the foundation for a Trans genocide.
