Bruce Rauner and the Republican Party in Illinois are holding badly needed school funding reform hostage by demanding $75 million for school vouchers in the form of a tax credit to wealthy donors. This will drive $75 million out of our Illinois public schools and into private schools, a scheme similar to those pushed by President Donald Trump and Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. Tell your state representative and senator that private school tax credits have no place in Illinois--tell them to override Bruce Rauner's veto of Senate Bill 1 and to reject his latest far-right privatization scheme.
