Tell the School Board: We Can't Open Until it's Safe

On Wednesday night hundreds of teachers, support employees and concerned parents gathered at the Jefferson Parish School Board meeting to express their concerns with the district's reopening plan.

Despite testimony from the Superintendent, many teachers were prepared to speak to the School Board about their own experience in the school buildings and just how unprepared we are for students in the school buildings.

Unfortunately, many people did not get the chance to voice their concerns. Hundreds were prevented from even entering the building and then in the middle of public testimony the Board suddenly adjourned, leaving many teachers and support employees baffled. Students are still scheduled to return on August 12th.

Use this form to send a message to the board to let them know what you think about their decision to shut down the meeting before hearing from their constituents.
