Support the SPARE Act to End Wasteful, Taxpayer-Funded Animal Research

The Safeguard Pets, Animals, and Research Ethics (SPARE) Act is a bill that aims to end federally funded animal research.

If the SPARE Act is passed into law, it will:
  • Prohibit biomedical, cosmetic, toxicity, and psychological testing on animals in federally-funded labs;
  • Mandate a three-year phase-out of existing animal experiments;
  • Redirect taxpayer dollars to ethical, human-relevant methodologies, like organ-on-a-chip technologies, human-cell-based models, and AI-driven computational research; and
  • Require that animals previously used in experiments be rehabilitated and placed in sanctuaries or adoptive homes.
Animal researchers are panicking. They have admitted that this bill could “decimate” the animal research industry — and they’re fighting hard to protect the perverse status quo.

Urge your U.S. elected officials to support the SPARE Act now!
