State Budget + Schools = Contact the Governor

The governor may sign the 2017-19 state budget into law this week - but he has a chance to veto some damaging provisions first. Be sure to add your voice to the thousands of educators, parents and advocates who value our neighborhood public schools.

Let the Governor Know Where You Stand

The state budget that is now before the governor represents a mixed bag for public schools, with increased funding for the first time in years - and in some critical areas like mental health and rural schools. But there are also some provisions that harm public schools. Ask the governor to veto the restrictions that limit school boards from going to referendum, the measure that allows for the break-apart of the Racine Unified School District, and the lifting of the income limits for the statewide voucher program.
