Supervisor Haubert: Divest Alameda County From Apartheid NOW

As Israel slaughters and ethnically cleanses tens of thousands of Palestinians, Alameda County continues to invest tens of millions of our tax dollars in companies that enable Israel's genocide and its decades-long occupation of Palestine. One such company is Caterpillar (CAT), which provides Israel with armored bulldozers equipped with weapons. They are essentially tanks. These D9 bulldozers are used to murder and assault Palestinians and to also destroy Palestinian homes and infrastructure. Recently, an Israeli soldier admitted that the bulldozers had been used to run over hundreds of Palestinians "dead and alive" in Gaza. Our tax dollars enable these heinous acts.

If you live in Alameda County District 1 (the cities of Dublin and Livermore; most of the city of Fremont; the unincorporated community of Sunol; a portion of the City of Pleasanton; and most of the unincorporated area of the Livermore-Amador Valley), please join us in:

(1) Expressing disappointment that Supervisor David Haubert voted to delay the implementation of an ethical investment policy at the November 12 Board of Supervisors meeting and

(2) Urging that support divesting Alameda County's public funds from Israel's crimes against humanity and creating an overall more ethical investment policy.

Free Palestine!
