Support ETHS Teacher Andrew Ginsberg!

Evanston Township High School history teacher Andrew Ginsberg is facing an official censure on his record from the D202 School Board for displaying a poster from Jewish Currents magazine featuring language from Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel that explores the history of Jewish dissent. This censure follows a long series of attacks by the D202 administration against staff and students alike, punishing support-for or solidarity-with Palestinian and anti-Zionist Jewish perspectives on current events.
ETHS has previously welcomed students and staff to show their personal beliefs, celebrate heritage and diversity, and even display political views. Making a singular exception to this freedom of expression in a global and well-publicized debate on human rights is a direct threat to First Amendment and Title VII rights – and holistic educational integrity – at ETHS. And Evanston teachers don't give up their constitutional rights when they walk through the front door.
It is notable that Mr. Ginsberg himself is Jewish, and the administration’s persistent actions to enforce only one acceptable expression of Judaism is itself deeply anti-Semitic.
We encourage any and all with connections to ETHS and the Evanston community to speak up!
