Support for Mitchell Drive Townhomes

Walnut Creek has built fewer than 300 homes in the last three years, far below the regional housing targets it's required to meet. Because it's built so little housing, the state's Builder's Remedy provision allows developers to propose housing projects that can be approved even if the city objects.

The Mitchell Drive Townhomes project would convert a 22-acre office park into 422 new homes, including 55 permanently affordable units, expanded bike infrastructure, and public open space. We need to express support for this project before it comes to planning commission on February 12.
