Support Independent Redistricting!

In Wisconsin, the politicians choose their voters instead of voters choosing their politicians. The district maps are rigged through a partisan process, instead of being drawn to ensure that the majority's vote counts. This meant in 2012, voters chose Democrats by a wide margin but Republicans retained a super-majority in the Legislature. For the next round of drawing district maps, following the 2020 census, the Legislature should use an independent redistricting process like the fair system in Iowa. Assembly Bill 44/Senate Bill 13 would create such a process, to ensure that whomever the voters choose in elections actually take office in the Legislature.
